Consulting & Security

Straight answers before
expensive decisions.

Hammer Brothers helps businesses understand what they have, identify what actually needs attention, and make practical technology decisions before money gets spent in the wrong place.

Sometimes the answer is new technology.
Sometimes it’s configuring what you already paid for correctly.

Start with the question

Sometimes the hard part is knowing what to do next.

Not every IT problem starts with something broken. Sometimes the risk is making a large decision without a reliable view of the environment.

01

We don’t know what we actually have

The environment grew over time and nobody has a reliable picture of systems, risks, dependencies, or priorities.

02

We’re about to spend a lot of money

A purchase, migration, expansion, or vendor proposal needs an independent technical review.

03

Security feels like a collection of settings

Controls exist, but nobody is confident they are configured consistently or appropriately.

04

Our IT needs a plan

Technology decisions have become reactive instead of deliberate.

05

We need a second opinion

A provider has recommended a major change and the business wants an independent perspective.

Primary capabilities

Understand first. Recommend second.

Good consulting should make the environment and the choices clearer—not make the consultant sound impressive.

  • Project scope guidance
  • Technology/vendor recommendations
  • Remediation plan
  • Documentation where appropriate
  • Budget and lifecycle considerations
  • A better understanding of the environment

How we approach consulting

Clarity before commitment.

  1. 01Understand

Learn the environment and the actual business problem.

  2. 02Assess

Determine what works, what does not, and what matters.

  3. 03Explain

Present the options in plain language.

  4. 04Prioritize

Separate urgent needs from things that can wait.

  5. 05Plan

    Define the practical next step.

Replacing everything is not automatically a strategy.

Practical security

Security without the theater.

Good security is usually a collection of sensible decisions made consistently: strong identity controls, properly configured networks, reasonable access, maintained systems, and clear ownership.

  • Identity
  • Configuration
  • Access
  • Maintenance
  • Ownership

Proof, when it is publishable

Common questions

Consulting FAQ

Do we need to know exactly what service we need?

No. A consultation can begin with the problem, decision, or uncertainty rather than a predetermined solution.

Can you review a proposal from another IT provider or vendor?

Yes. We can provide an independent technical review of the proposal, assumptions, scope, and practical fit.

Do you provide remote consulting outside Indiana?

Yes. On-site IT services are available throughout Central Indiana, with remote consulting and support available nationwide.

Can you help us improve security without replacing everything?

Yes. Recommendations are based on the existing environment and actual needs. Reusing sound systems and correcting configuration may be the practical answer.
